Bathroom Remodeling
Bathroom remodels punish shortcuts. We open the walls, correct what’s hidden, and rebuild with proper waterproofing and ventilation — then finish with the tile and fixtures you chose, all under one team through installation.
The Vision
The design vision stays connected through every day of construction.
Design, construction planning, trade coordination, and installation stay under one accountable team from demolition to the final walkthrough.

What’s Included
A Complete, Considered Scope
01
Full tear-out
We take the room down to the studs and subfloor so nothing questionable is left behind. Hidden leaks, soft subfloor, and failed shower pans are corrected first, then the shower is rebuilt with a continuous waterproofing system and properly sloped drains before a single tile goes up.
02
Ventilation + moisture
Tucson baths swing from bone-dry air to steamy showers every day, and hard water leaves its mark on everything it touches. We size the exhaust fan to the room, duct it to the outside, and choose fixtures, grout, and surfaces that resist mineral buildup and stay easy to clean.
03
Tile + stone installation
Tile and stone are set by installers who plan the layout before the first cut: centered niches, balanced edges, aligned grout lines, and clean transitions at every corner. Large-format tile, slab walls, and mosaic floors are each handled with the substrate and setting method they require.
04
One team, one schedule
Design, construction, and trade coordination stay with one accountable team, working from one schedule. You have a single point of contact from demolition to the final caulk line, and the details drawn during design are the details that get built. It also means fewer handoffs, fewer surprises, and clearer answers when questions come up.
How It Unfolds
What happens during a bathroom remodel.
Every bathroom is different, but the order of work is not. Knowing what happens in each phase helps you plan your household around the project and understand why certain steps can’t be rushed. It also explains where the budget goes: much of the most important work happens inside the walls and floor, long before the finishes arrive.
Demolition + discovery.
The room is protected, sealed off from the rest of the house, and taken down to the framing. This is when older homes reveal their surprises, from past leaks to undersized drains, and we address them before anything new is built. Dust barriers and floor protection stay in place for the duration of the job.
Rough-in + waterproofing.
Plumbing, electrical, and ventilation are moved or upgraded to match the plan. Walls and floors are prepared, blocking goes in for grab bars and fixtures, and the shower is waterproofed and tested before it is closed up. Inspections happen at this stage, while everything is still visible.
Tile, fixtures + finish.
Tile and stone are installed, then the vanity, counters, glass, and fixtures. We finish with paint, hardware, and sealing, followed by a walkthrough together to confirm every detail matches the design before we call it done. Any punch-list items are tracked and closed out promptly.

Before

After
Before + After
Same room, reworked from the studs.
In the Schneider primary bath, the clerestory window stayed, and nearly everything below it changed. Dark cabinetry and framed mirrors gave way to a lighter vanity, a single full-width mirror, and a calmer palette that lets the desert light carry the room. The result feels larger and brighter without moving a single wall.

Remodeling Questions
Bathroom remodeling, answered.
The questions we hear most before a bathroom remodel begins. If yours isn’t here, bring it to your free consultation and we’ll happily talk it through.
What’s behind a bathroom remodel that homeowners don’t see?
Waterproofing, ventilation, and drainage. We open the walls, correct what’s hidden, and rebuild these correctly before any tile goes up — that’s what makes the finish last.
Can you build a curbless or walk-in shower in my home?
In most cases, yes. We assess the floor structure and drain location, then detail the slope and waterproofing so a curbless shower performs as well as it looks.
How do you deal with Tucson’s hard water and dryness?
We choose fixtures and surfaces that resist mineral buildup and specify ventilation sized for the space, so the finished bath stays easy to maintain.
Will the remodel be disruptive?
A bath remodel is contained, but there will be dust and noise during demolition. We protect the surrounding home and keep the work area sealed.
Do you remodel more than one bathroom at a time?
Yes — we often phase multiple baths together and coordinate shared plumbing so the work is efficient and the results are consistent.
Can we keep using the bathroom during the remodel?
No. Once demolition starts, the room is out of service until the fixtures are installed. If it is your only full bath, we talk through the schedule and temporary arrangements before work begins.
What happens if you find damage behind the walls?
We show you what we found, explain the fix, and give you the cost before moving forward. Budgets are built with these possibilities in mind, especially in older homes.
Can you keep our existing plumbing layout?
Often, yes. Keeping the toilet, shower, and vanity drains in place is one of the most effective ways to control cost, and we will tell you when moving them is worth it.
Can a tub be replaced with a walk-in shower?
Yes. It is one of the most common updates we build. We rework the drain and waterproofing, add blocking for grab bars, and size the entry so the shower is easy to use.
Do you handle the design as well as the construction?
Yes. Our design team plans the room, and the same studio manages the remodel through the final walkthrough. Learn more on our bathroom design page.
What makes a remodel last?
The parts you never see after the tile goes in: a continuous waterproofing system, correctly sloped drains, solid substrate, and ventilation that actually removes moisture. We treat these as the foundation of every bath we build.
Can you update a bathroom for aging in place?
Yes. Curbless showers, benches, handheld sprays, comfort-height fixtures, wider clearances, and hidden blocking for grab bars can be built in without making the room feel clinical.
